4 Simple Ways for Parents to Make Extra Money From Home

Being a parent means juggling a lot – from taking care of the kids to managing household responsibilities. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find ways to earn extra money from home! Here are four easy and flexible ways to make some extra cash without leaving your house.

1. Surveys: Quick & Easy Cash

  • What it is: Survey one of my fave & easiest ways to earn a little spare money. All you have to do is share your opinions on products or services, and you get paid for it. It’s perfect for those moments when you have a few minutes to kill – maybe while waiting for the kids to finish their homework or during nap time.
  • How to get started: Download a few reliable survey apps on your phone, and start completing surveys. These ones are my favourite:

  • How much you can earn: While you won’t make a fortune, surveys are a great way to make a few extra dollars each week. You can expect to make around $1 to $5 per survey, which really adds up over time.

2. Digital Faceless Marketing: No Need to Be on Camera

  • What it is: With digital faceless marketing, you don’t need to show your face to make money. Instead, you’ll promote products or services online through social media posts. You can do this all from the comfort of your home, without having to leave your kids with a babysitter.
  • How to get started: All you need is an internet connection, some creativity, and tools like Canva or Google Ads. You could:
    • Product Photography(UGC Content): User Generated Content is growing in popularity and is seen as more authentic. Share videos and photos of products you love and include your affiliate links to earn a percentage of the sale. You can also find UGC jobs on platforms such as Upwork, or reach out to companies directly with a Media Kit.
    • Create Digital Products: Design digital products such as Posters, Logos, Guides, E-Books, Templates, Calendars, etc. utilizing creativity tools such as Canva.

  • How to get started: Pick a niche you’re passionate about (like parenting, home organization, or self-care), and share product recommendations on your blog, social media, or through YouTube. Some top affiliate programs to check out:

    • ShareASale – A network full of brands you can partner with.
    • ClickBank – Focuses on digital products like eBooks or courses.
  • How much you can earn: Affiliate marketing takes time to build up, but once you get the hang of it, it can be a great passive income stream. Some people earn anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars each month by promoting the right products.

4. Starting a Blog: Share Your Story and Get Paid

  • What it is: Blogging is a fun and creative way to make extra money while sharing your experiences as a parent, your hobbies, or your interests. You can monetize your blog by running ads, promoting affiliate products, or working with brands for sponsored posts.
  • How to get started: Choose a topic you love (parenting, cooking, budgeting, etc.), set up a blog on a platform like WordPress, and start writing. Don’t worry about being perfect – just be yourself and be authentic! Here’s how to get started:
